Description:

The chosen candidate will study towards a Extended Diploma Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding Apprenticeship

Our apprentices are expected to be part of the team, both learning from their more experienced colleagues and sharing their new learning gained from their time at the AMRC.

The responsibilities of the Welder / Fabricator position include fitting and joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform welding duties MIG/MAG and TIG
  • Complying with Statutory Regulations & Health & Safety
  • Plan & work effectively to a high standard in an efficient manor
  • Fabrication of sheet metalwork
  • Manufacture of components as set out by engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
  • Candidates will learn to manufacture using both jigs and fabrication techniques to achieve a high level of accuracy
  • Work alongside established fabricators and welders to assist in the fabrication or welding of multi-component parts.
  • Operate a variety of hand power tools including plasma cutting  
  • To weld in accordance with drawing requirements.
  • Willingness to cross-train and undertake tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
  • Inspect equipment and maintain as set out by company guidelines. Any equipment needing repair should be reported to line supervisor.
  • Perform a variety of complicated tasks, as required.
  • Good communications skills.

 

 


Criteria Requirments:

Qualifications Required  

  • The chosen candidate must have 5 GCSE's or equivalent at Grade C or grade 4-9 under the new education grade system effective from 2016/2017 above, Must include Maths and English.
