A four-day introduction to the basic concepts of CAD/CAM for 2½D CNC milling processes. Explore & realise the progression from design to manufacture. This is a practical based course with hands on activities  on CNC machines and offline computers.

This course enables the candidate to gain an understanding of the principles employed in 2½D CNC milling techniques using CAD/CAM software.  It will enable the learner to have an understanding of the safety aspects of automated CNC CAM milling processes used in the manufacturing industry.
You will gain an understanding of off-line programming and post-processing G-Codes via DNC to CNC machine tools.

Who Should Attend?

The course is aimed at candidates who have a good basic understanding of CNC milling operations and a basic understanding of CAD packages, and have knowledge of G-coding and programming using Canned Cycles, they should have the desire to up-skill and expand their present abilities to meet future demands.

We recommend that candidates have attended the AMRC Training Centre Introduction to CNC Milling course before enrolling on to the intermediate course.
