Our number one priority is to support apprentices and their employers and we understand this is a difficult time. To help employers access the information they need we have put together a couple of common questions and answers below.

If your apprentice employees are furloughed, they can continue to undertake training as long as they are not generating revenue for you, the employer.
However, you must pay your apprentices at least the apprenticeship minimum wage, national living wage or national minimum Wage as appropriate for all the time they spend training.
This means you must cover any shortfall between the amount you can claim for their wages through this scheme and their appropriate minimum wage.

Should your apprentices be made redundant during this time, we can currently keep them in learning for 12 weeks, we can also help them find new work. We are hoping for additional guidance from Government - they may decide to extend this period. Check back for updates on redundancies.
