School insight days at the AMRC
Exposing young people to the world of engineering to spark their interest as early as possible is a key component for the AMRC Training Centre and the employers we work in collaboration with. What better way of showcasing the opportunities in this exciting industry to secondary school children (in the Sheffield City Region) than showing them first-hand, the facilities at the AMRC Training Centre.
To arrange a school visit to the amazing AMRC Training Centre, contactEducational Outreach Co-ordinator, Wendy Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org or Vicky Cardwell Sung on email@example.com or call 0114 222 9958.
Appentice open events at the AMRC
There is a lot going on at the AMRC Training Centre to help you decide if an apprenticeship is for you, we regularly hold Apprentice Open Days for students, where you can speak to our apprentice trainers, tour our facilities and chat with our current apprentices so you can find out what life as an AMRC apprentice is like.
We can bring the AMRC to you!
As well as holding events at the AMRC Training Centre, we also visit schools and colleges in the Sheffield City Region. Contact us on the details about should you wish us to visit your school.
Our apprentices become excellent ambassadors for STEM education and many are present at our events at the AMRC Trainign Centre and out and about in the region. Feel free to ask them all about their experiences as an AMRC Apprentice!
Two of our excellent apprentice ambassadors David Brown and Josef Barlow of Cooper and Turner went back to Winterhill School to give a talk to students about what life if like as an apprentice! They also hosted an exhibit on behalf of their company at the Make, Create, Innovate Event at the Training Centre in November 2015. Find out more about Make, Create, Innovate under the STEM Events tab on the men.
