You can be confident that an apprenticeship at the AMRC Training Centre will give your child the very best opportunity to earn, learn new skills and take their first steps towards a successful career.
In the past apprenticeships were seen as a lower option against further education. This has now changed and apprenticeships are held in high esteem by many global companies, as well as regional businesses. These businesses are very interested in taking on apprentices of all abilities. With a distinct shortage of skilled personnel in the manufacturing sector, particularly in the Yorkshire region, there has never been a better time to consider apprenticeships.
As employees, apprentices earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. Off the job, usually on a day-release basis, apprentices receive training to work towards nationally recognised qualifications.
Apprenticeships can take between one and four years to complete depending on the level and type of apprenticeship, and the industry sector. The minimum salary is £2.65 per hour; however, many apprentices earn significantly more. Anyone living in England, over 16 and not in full-time education can apply.
